Peer Review Process

Refereeing Procedure and Policy

The referees' reports constitute recommendations to the Editorial Board, who is responsible to take final decision about to accept or reject the submitted papers.

Usually, at least two referees are responsible for determining whether the papers submitted are or not eligible for publication.
Although the referees may need to be consulted again concerning an author's reply to comments, further refereeing will be avoided as far as possible.
In the case of a notable discrepancy between the reports of the referees, or if the debate between authors and referees cannot be resolved readily, a third referee may be called upon to judge.
When a paper is recommended for rejection, the Editorial Board will inform the authors.

Referees Anonimity and Confidentiality

The anonymity of referees is strictly preserved from the authors and referees reports should be prepared so as not to reveal their identity.
Referees should never communicate directly with authors, unless they have obtained, in advance, special permission from the Editorial Board.

Refereing allowed time

Referees should submit their reports in no more than 30 days from the Paper receipt or inform immediately the Editorial Board if this is not feasible.

Reports Submission

Referees can supply their reports in electronic format following the instructions contained in the request of referee activity.

Ethics Statements

If requested, authors must produce original data for inspection by the editor. Possible fraud may be referred to the authors’ institutions. Studies carried out on human subjects, other than measurements in the course of their normal work activities, must have been approved by a competent ethics committee using the standards of the Helsinki Declaration of the World Medical Association http://www.wma.net/en/30publications/10policies/b3/. The ethics committee which gave approval must be named in the paper.
